i heard the water was written in early 2020 when living hurt. in a dream i walked into the ocean, the water washing over me like static from a television. deeper, all sound stopped and the light faded. where my skin stopped and the water began was an open border. finally, i achieved peace. in the quiet my eyes were closed and an image of you started to play on repeat, and then a voice spoke out. i realized i missed you. this song is about not wanting to die, but wanting to start new. thank you for being here. -elias
